The Community Masterpiece project

is an excellent example of what can be achieved when we are able to unite in a shared goal to create something beautiful. In fact, it is our differences in age, medium, style, and vision which have brought this project to life.

For this, our first such endeavor, we divided an existing artwork into 63 equal squares, then invited the community at large to participate.

Local residents and artists accepted the challenge to recreate the assigned section of the artwork in his or her own style and medium, and the result is amazing.

The result is a magnificent version of a famous masterpiece which we want everyone to enjoy.

Collage, quilting, found objects, and oil are some of the media you will see on this 48"X64" assemblage.

In addition to the Masterpiece reveal, attendees will be treated to an exhibit by noted local fine artist Larry Chestnut as well as contributions of local artists on the theme Still Life.
